Co-Founder: Mari Agory
Mari Agory is a renowned international fashion model who has worked for prominent fashion houses such as Marc Jacobs, Balenciaga, Vivienne Westwood, Zac Posen, JW Anderson just to name a few. She has appeared in editorials for various magazines including Vogue, Elle, Harpers Bazzar, Glamour; campaigns both for famous fashion houses and diversity initiatives aiming to change the narrative of beauty standards in media.
Mari embarked upon her motherhood journey a year ago just at the peak of her career. She is the mama to one son, and another on the way. Juggling between motherhood and career, her new and evolving identity has completely transformed her perspective and outlook on life and has inspired her to help new moms who are experiencing similar challenges as she once did by Co founding Mama Talks NYC to inspire other moms to live authentically and fearlessly. Mari has always devoted her time advocating for women and children’s rights globally and rising awareness of the deteriorating conditions in her native country.
Mari was born in Khartoum, Sudan. At the age of nine, Mari and her siblings alongside their mother sought asylum to the United States as political refugees. The ongoing civil war, which has devastated South Sudan for decades, has prevented Mari and her family from returning.
She attended the University of California Irvine and found her niche in the school’s Public Health program, through which she has always hoped to advocate for and improve the health conditions affecting women and children in developing countries.
