Founder & CEO : Raabiah J. Hasan

Raabiah was raised in the United Kingdom. She studied Culinary Arts and was a professionally trained chef for 7 years. She then went on to train within French Patisserie and envisioned to open her very own little patisserie. Little did she know, she would get married to a Parisian, live in Paris and have an adorable little baby. They are now residing in the craziest yet most exhilarating destination imaginable, New York City!

This city brought about great challenges for her. Raabiah was living in unfamiliar territory, without any family or friends nearby and was pretty much alien to New York with a 4 month old baby in tow.

As she embarked upon motherhood, Raabiah began to network with incredible & inspiring moms in the city. She created a moms group and was organising events on a small scale, to acquire experience and knowledge of the industry.

As an ambassador to the worlds largest mama conference held by Mindr, at The United Nations on International Women's Day, Raabiah was rather inspired by the mama movement globally and wanted to work towards a project that was meaningful and supported mamas on an intellectual and psychological level.

She then decided to develop an initiative called Mama Talks. This initiative aims to celebrate diversity in its entirety. We organize mind stimulating talks for Mamas to uplift their spirits by providing empowered female role models and experts throughout the city.

Co-Founder: Mari Agory

Mari Agory is a renowned international fashion model who has worked for prominent fashion houses such as Marc Jacobs, Balenciaga, Vivienne Westwood, Zac Posen, JW Anderson just to name a few. She has appeared in editorials for various magazines including Vogue, Elle, Harpers Bazzar, Glamour; campaigns both for famous fashion houses and diversity initiatives aiming to change the narrative of beauty standards in media.

Mari embarked upon her motherhood journey a year ago just at the peak of her career. She is the mama to one son, and another on the way. Juggling between motherhood and career, her new and evolving identity has completely transformed her perspective and outlook on life and has inspired her to help new moms who are experiencing similar challenges as she once did by Co founding Mama Talks NYC to inspire other moms to live authentically and fearlessly. Mari has always devoted her time advocating for women and children’s rights globally and rising awareness of the deteriorating conditions in her native country.

Mari was born in Khartoum, Sudan. At the age of nine, Mari and her siblings alongside their mother sought asylum to the United States as political refugees. The ongoing civil war, which has devastated South Sudan for decades, has prevented Mari and her family from returning.

She attended the University of California Irvine and found her niche in the school’s Public Health program, through which she has always hoped to advocate for and improve the health conditions affecting women and children in developing countries.
